The Mayor and Township Council of Weehawken created the Weehawken Parking Authority to address parking issues throughout the Township. We have instituted a Residential Parking Program to try to alleviate the many parking problems which have been of concern to residents over the years.
Our Township has been increasingly affected by changes in the economy, causing new traveling trends by commuters seeking less expensive transportation to New York City.
This program has opened up additional parking for Weehawken residents, with expanded enforcement hours and overnight protection.
Our parking regulations are the focus of a single agency entrusted with not only enforcing parking laws, but with keeping up with the latest technology and trends to meet our community's needs.
